Alianor (Eleanor) was born in October 1292 in Caerphilly Castle, Caerphilly, Glamorganshire, Wales.  Alianor (Eleanor)'s father was Lord Gilbert De Clare and her mother was Joan Plantagenet.  Her paternal grandparents were Richard De Clare and Maud de Lacy; her maternal grandparents were Edward I 'Longshanks' and Lady Eleanor of Castile. She had a brother and two sisters, named Gilbert, Lady Margaret and Elizabeth.  She was the second youngest of the four children. She had a half-brother and a half-sister, named Thomas and Mary.  She died at the age of 44 on June 30th, 1337 in Tewkesbury, Gloucestershire, England.
