Richard De Clare 
Richard was born in 1162 in Tonbridge Castle, Kent, England. Richard's father was Roger "The Good" De Clare and his mother was Maud de St. Hilary. His paternal grandparents were Richard fitz Gilbert de Clare and Adeliza de Meschines De Gernon; his maternal grandparents were James de St. Hilaire and Aveline. He had four brothers and three sisters, named James, Roger, John, Henry, Mabel, Aveline and Elena. He was the second oldest of the eight children. He had a half-brother and a half-sister, named William V and Alice. He died at the age of 56 on December 30th, 1218.General Notes
