Fernando II was born in 1137 in Toledo, Spain.  Fernando II's father was Alphonso Raimond and his mother was Berenguela Raimundo of Barcelona.  His paternal grandparents were Urraca Alfonsez of Castile and Raimund De Bourgogne; his maternal grandparents were Raimund Berenguer and Dulce Aldonza de Milhaud. He had four brothers and two sisters, named Sancho III "The Desired", Prince of Castile, Prince of Castile, Prince of Castile, Sancha and Princess of Castile. He had a half-brother and four half-sisters, named Prince of Castile and Leon, Sancha, Urraca of, Estefania Alfonso and Urraca Alfansa.  He died in Benavente, Italy.
