Lady Margaret was born in October 1292 in Tunbridge, Staffordshire, England.  Lady Margaret's father was Lord Gilbert De Clare and her mother was Joan Plantagenet.  Her paternal grandparents were Richard De Clare and Maud de Lacy; her maternal grandparents were Edward I 'Longshanks' and Lady Eleanor of Castile. She had a brother and two sisters, named Gilbert, Alianor (Eleanor) and Elizabeth.  She was the second oldest of the four children. She had a half-brother and a half-sister, named Thomas and Mary.  She died at the age of 49 on April 9th, 1342 in France.  She was buried on April 13th, 1342 in Tonbridge Priory, Kent, England.
