Joan was born in 1272 in D'Acres, Palestine.  Joan's father was Edward I 'Longshanks' and her mother was Lady Eleanor of Castile.  Her paternal grandparents were Henry III Plantagenet and Elâonore Bâerenger; her maternal grandparents were III Ferdinand and Jeanne De Dammartin. She had four brothers and ten sisters, named John, Henry, Alfonso, Edward, Eleanor, Juliana 'Katherine', Margaret, Berengaria, Elizabeth, Beatrice, Blanche, Nun at Amesbury, Isabella and Alice. She had three half-brothers and a half-sister, named Thomas, Edmund, John and Eleanor.  She died at the age of 35 on April 26th, 1307 in Clare, Suffolk, England.  She was buried in Priory Church of the Auston Friars, Clare, Suffolk, England.


Joan's first family with Lord Gilbert De Clare

‌Joan and Lord Gilbert were married in a religious ceremony in April 1290 in Westminster Abbey, Middlesex, England.  They had a son and three daughters, named Gilbert, Lady Margaret, Alianor (Eleanor) and Elizabeth.

‌Joan and Ralph were married in a religious ceremony.  They had a son and a daughter, named Thomas and Mary.
