I was born in 1128 in Reims, Champagne, France.  I's father was Louis VI "the Fat" Capet and his mother was Adelaide De Maurienne.  His paternal grandparents were Philippe I 'the Fair' Capet and Bertha of Holland; his maternal grandparents were Humbert II 'the Fat' and Gisela de Bourgogne. He had six brothers and a sister, named Philippe Prince of, Louis VII 'the Younger', Archbishop of Rheims, Prince of France, Robert I, Arch Dean of Paris and Constance.  He was the youngest of the eight children.  He died at the age of 55 in 1183 in Palestine.  He was buried on April 10th, 1183.


I's family with Elizabeth de Courtenay

‌I and Elizabeth were married in a religious ceremony about 1153 in Abbey, Ford, Devonshire, England.  They had three sons and six daughters, named Pierre II, Guillaume, Robert, Alice, Eustachia, Constance, Isabelle, Clementia and Phillippe.
