Helen was born in 1885 in Broxburn and her baptism took place there on October 11th, 1885 conducted by G. Sinclair.1 2  Helen's father was Andrew Thomson and her mother was Helen Henderson.  Her paternal grandparents were Archibald Thomson and Margaret Paterson; her maternal grandparents were Michael Henderson and Margaret Galloway. She had seven brothers and five sisters, named Archibald, Michael, Jim, Andrew, Robert, James, Robert, Margaret, Mary, Jeanie, Nan and Helen.  She was the second youngest of the thirteen children.  She died due to heart disease, cardiac failure, at the age of 26 on January 18th, 1911 in Broxburn.  She was buried on January 22nd, 1911 in Uphall.3 4
