James Cunningham 
James was born on March 10th, 1762 in Kirkliston and his baptism took place there on March 14th, 1762.1 James' father was John Cunningham and his mother was Hellen Aitken. His paternal grandparents were Edward Cunninghame and Jannet Hill; his maternal grandparents were Thomas Aitkine and Agnes Bishop. He had four brothers and three sisters, named Alexander, Thomas, John, Archibald, Christian, Margaret and Helen. He was the third youngest of the eight children.- General Notes
