Agnes was born on November 11th, 1692 in Kirkliston and her baptism took place there on November 18th, 1692.1  Agnes' father was John Bishop and her mother was Elspeth Bell.  Her maternal grandparents were John Bell and Elspeth Ramsay. She had two brothers and three sisters, named Patrick, James, Margaret, Helen and Janet.  She was the second oldest of the six children.
