John Cunningham

John was born in January 1715 in Dalmeny and his baptism took place there on January 7th, 1715 conducted by minister James Naismith.¹   John's father was Edward Cunninghame and his mother was Jannet Hill.  His paternal grandparents were Edward Cunninghame and Margaret Godrell; his maternal grandparents were John Hill and Jennet Bell. He had three brothers and five sisters, named Edward, James, George, Margaret, Jannet, Catharen, Hellen and Jean.  He was the third oldest of the nine children.
