James Cunningham

James was born in May 1719 in South Queensferry and his baptism took place on May 17th, 1719 in Dalmeny.¹   James' father was Edward Cunninghame and his mother was Jannet Hill.  His paternal grandparents were Edward Cunninghame and Margaret Godrell; his maternal grandparents were John Hill and Jennet Bell. He had three brothers and five sisters, named Edward, John, George, Margaret, Jannet, Catharen, Hellen and Jean.  He was the fifth oldest of the nine children.
