Alison Smeal

Alison was born on October 22nd, 1747 in South Queensferry and her baptism took place on November 1st, 1747 in Abercorn.¹

Alison's father was Andrew Smeal and her mother was Janet Broun.  Her paternal grandparents were Patrick Smeal and Alison Samuell. She had four brothers and two sisters, named James, Patrick, William, Andrew, Margaret and Janet.  She was the second youngest of the seven children.  She died at the age of 76 on July 11th, 1824 in Clapperton Hall.  She was buried in Broxburn.^2 2
