Margaret Paterson

Margaret was born on June 4th, 1815 in Ecclesmachan.¹²

Margaret's father was Theophilus (John) John Paterson and her mother was Helen Cunningham. Her paternal grandparents were George Paterson and Christian Philp; her maternal grandparents were Alexander Cuningham and Margaret Brash. She had five brothers and two sisters, named Alexander, George, James, John, Malcolm, Jean and Helen. She was the third oldest of the eight children. She died due to a respiratory problem and/or pneumonia, bronchitis, duration 4 days, at the age of 67 on December 25th, 1882 in Uphall.³
