Mary (Isabel) was born about 1332. Mary (Isabel)'s father was Richard II Copped Hat FitzAlan of Arundel and her mother is Isabel le Despencer. Her paternal grandparents were Edmund Fitzalan of Arundel and Alice de Warenne; her maternal grandparents were Hugh the Younger le Despencer and Eleanor (Alinore) de Clare. She had a brother and two sisters, named Edmund Fitzalan of, Philippa and Eleanor. She was the second youngest of the four children. She had three half-brothers and three half-sisters, named John Fitzalan of, Richard III Fitzalan of, Thomas Fitzalan of, Elizabeth Fitzalan of, Joan Fitzalan of and Alice FitzAlan of.
