Maud was born after 1204 in Breconshire, Wales.  Maud's father was William (Black Will) de Braose and her mother was Eve Marshal.  Her paternal grandparents were Reginald de Braose and Grace (Gracia) de Briwere; her maternal grandparents were William the Protector Marshal and Isabel Fitz Richard Strongbow de Clare. She had three sisters named Eve, Isabela and Eleanor. She had two half-brothers named Roger II de St. Maur of and William II de St. Maur of Undy &.  She died in Glower, Glamorganshire, England.


Maud's first family with Roger de Mortimer

‌Maud and Roger were married in a religious ceremony in 1247.  They had five sons and three daughters, named William, Roger II de Mortimer of, Geoffrey, Ralph, Edmund, Isabella, Isolde (Iseude) and Margaret.

They had a daughter named Gwenllian verch.
