Both moved from Bolton to Farnworth after their marriages. Lives with: In 1911, Thomas (aged 2) was living with his aunt and uncle Hannah and Mathew Dickinson. Representative of: Thomas Mather of 36 Rothwell Street, Bolton, Lancashire, Journeyman-brewer died 23 Mar 1901 and Samuel was the adminiostrator.
His niece Hannah took over the house, and she was living there when she married Thomas Grundy in 1902.
 Relative of 1828 - 1889 Martha Jordan 61 61 Martha had Betty Jordan (sister?) living with them in 1861.  She probably also had a brother John who administered her husband John's probate. 1847 Mary Jane Jordan (Mather) The birth for Mary Jane JORDAN was registered in 1847.  Since John married Martha the following year, it is assumed that Mary Jane Jordan was his daughter before they married,

In 1871, Mary Jane Mather was 23 and at 28 Shaw Street, Bolton with her parents and siblings.

In 1880, Mary may have married Thomas Taylor
1823 - 1892 John Mather 69 69 In 1841, living in Sidney Street, Bolton East with father James.  In 1851 John was still in Sydney Street, now married to Martha.  The other family had left.

In 1861, John and Martha (32 & 33) were living in Shaw Street with Betsy Jordan (22); also Mary J (130), Samuel (10), William (7), Betsy (5), Ellen (3) and Robert Mather (9mo).  There were still there in 1871 at No.28.

In 1879, John was living at Shaw Street.  Daughter Ellen of Shaw Street married Charles Watson.

In 1881 John was a beerseller, living at 32 Rothwell Street.

In 1891, John (68) was a beer seller (at the Rothwell Street Tavern), with William (39), Robert (30), Thomas (28), Hannah (25), Martha (22) and John (21) with him.
1853 - 1931 William Mather 78 78 In 1871, William (17) was at 28 Shaw Street, Bolton with his parents and siblings.

In 1891, William (39) was still single with his father, and a cotton weaver

In 1916, Priscilla Mather was at 199 Eshrick St, Bolton (see WW1 death record for son William Ewart)
1860 - 1920 Robert Mather 59 59 In 1871, Robert (10) was at 28 Shaw Street, Bolton with his parents and siblings.

Robert was still single, and living with his brother Samuel in 1911
1862 - 1901 Thomas Mather 39 39 In 1871, Thomas (8) was at 28 Shaw Street, Bolton with his parents and siblings.

Thomas Mather of 36 Rothwell Street, Bolton, Lancashire, Journeyman-brewer died 23 Mar 1901.  His niece Hannah took over the house, and she was living there when she married Thomas Grundy in 1902.
1865 - 1939 Hannah Mather 73 73 Soon after her father John died in 1892, Hannah (and brother William in 1891) both married at the Halliwel Road Chapel.

In 1911, Hannah had been married 19 years and had 5 children (one died).  She also had Thomas Grendey, Nephew, aged 2 with her.

In 1939, Hannah was a widow at 65 Angles Grove, Bolton.  She died just after the census/register.
1868 - 1940 Martha Mather 72 72 1870 John Mather In 1889, John's mother died.

In 1891, John (21, youngest son of John) was still with his father at the 32 Rothwell Street (Tavern), Bolton.  John was an Iron turner.

In 1901, John was still single, a boarder.
1851 - >1911 Samuel Mather 60 60 In 1871, Samuel (20) was at 28 Shaw Street, Bolton with his parents and siblings. His uncle William Mather b.1834 lived at 18 Back Milk Street in 1871.

In 1881, Samuel a cotton spinner and Martha (30 & 28) where at 15 Back Milk Street with Ellen, John and Hannah (6,4,& 2)

In 1891, Samuel was lodging with John Greenhalgh and family at 28 Shaw Street.  Also there were son John (14) and daughter Hannah (11).

In 1899, brother Thomas a beer seller of 36 Rothwell Street died, and in 1901 Samuel was the adminiostrator.

After John died, Samuel took over the busines of being a beerseller.  He was 59 and married and an employer in 1911, and his son John a brewer.  Brother Robert was living with him at 32 Rothwell Street (Bolton), an assistant brewer.
1855 Betsy Mather This is NOT the Betsy who married James Blackledge, as that Betsy's father was John a Quarryman from Deane.  This Betsy most probably married Thomas Morris (1880) or possibly William H Driver (1881). 1858 - 1915 Ellen Mather 57 57
In 1861, Ellen's parents were still living at Shaw Street.

In 1871, Ellen (13) was at 28 Shaw Street, East Bolton with her parents and 9 siblings.

18 Oct 1879, Charles Watson (26), a Mechanic of Mill Street and son of John Watson a Joiner married Ellen Mather (21) of Shaw Street, daughter of John Mather a weaver.
1853 Martha Kay 1877 John Mather John's father Samuel took over the Rothwell Street Tavern from his father, and was there in 1901 with his uncle Robert etc. 1879 - 1912 Hannah Mather 33 33 19 Mar 1902, Hannah Mather (22) Housekeeper Spinster of 36 Rothwell St (Tavern), Bolton married Thomas Grundy, a Carher, son of John Grundy a Brewer. 1886 Martha Mather 1874 Ellen Kay (Mather) Ellen was born 1874 and baptised in Jan 1875, but her parents marriage wasnt registered till 1876. 1859 - 1936 Priscilla Longworth 77 77 5 Oct 1891, Priscilla Longworth (37) of Harvey Street, Halliwell married William Mather (37). Her father was Thomas Longworth, a Stonemason. 1892 Thomas Holmer Mather 1894 Evangeline (Eva) Mather 1899 - 1917 William Ewart Mather 18 18 William Ewart – Private, was killed during WW1, aged 18.  He was in the Cheshire Regiment.  No wife or children. 1849 - 1850 James Mather 1 1 1866 - ~1866 Susan (Hannah) Mather There is only a birth record on Lancashire BMD (with both parents named), and no baptism or other registratin.

Susan must have died an indant.

1884 - 1955 Mary (Nellie) Ellen Watson 70 70 Nellie Watson (normally a pet name for Ellen) but called Mary E on census records is the Grandmother of pambev1 (from Ontario, Canada).  She has a 9cM DNA match with Paul Mather.

In 1901, Mary E Watson (16) was living at 416 Bridgmans St with her parents Charles and Ellen (47 & 43) and her three sisters.

In 1911, Mary E Fletcher (26) was living at 22 Pike Road, Bolton with husband Thomas (27) and daughter Phylis (1).

In 1921, Thomas, Mary E, Phillis W, and Kenneth were in Bolton, Lancashire

In 1939, Thomas B Fletcher was a Publican at 1 Railway Street, Rochdale.  With him was wife Mary E Fletcher (DOB 21 Dec 85, but should be 21 Dec 84)
