Annie was born in June 1889 in Bolton.¹

Annie's father was William Nelson and her mother was Clara Ann Mather. Her maternal grandparents were George Mather and Mary Marsh. She had a brother and five sisters, named James, Emily, Lizzie, Clara, Ettie and Adeline. She was the fourth oldest of the seven children. She died at the age of 1 in June 1890.
