26 April 1812, Sarah, daughter of Joseph & Hannah Mather, Weaver of Levenshulme was baptised at Heaton Norris.
18 Nov 1832, Sarah Mather married John Walton at Manchrster Cathederal.
In 1833, Sarah and John had a son Thomas baptised at Gorton which is close to Levenshulme where Sarah was born. They them moved to Thornham by Middleton.
In 1841, John and Sarah (both 30) were at Cross Hall, Walmersley, Bury with Mary (5), James (3) and Joshua (2). Joshua's birth record confirms the MMN is MATHER. Sarah's father Joseph Mather (70) was with them.
In 1851, John and Sarah Walton (41 & 39) were at Scrike Fold, Astley Bridge, Sharples with Mary (14), James (13), Joshua (11), John (9), Thomas (7) and Eli (2).
In 1861, Sarah was Head, Married, 49 with Joshua (21), John (19), Thomas (17), Eli (12), Allen (8) at Didsbury Road, Heaton Norris, Manchester.
In 1871, John and Sarah (62 & 59) were at Heaton Norris with son Allen (18)
Family Pictures
Sarah and John were married in a religious ceremony on November 18th, 1832 at Manchester Cathedral witnessed by Thomas Parry & Gerald Gilletts.3 They had eight sons and two daughters, named Thomas, James, Joshua, John, Thomas, Eli, Luke, Allen, Mary and Ellen. There are no more children.
