Ellen Walton

Ellen was born in 1845 in Halliwell and her baptism took place on March 8th, 1846 at St. Peter's (Bolton).¹

Ellen's father was John Walton and her mother was Sarah Mather.  Her maternal grandparents were Joseph Mather and Ann (Hannah) Hindley. She had eight brothers and a sister, named Thomas, James, Joshua, John, Thomas, Eli, Luke, Allen and Mary.  She was the fourth youngest of the ten children.  She died at the age of 2 in December 1847 in Sharples.  She was buried on January 1st, 1848 at All Saints, Little Bolton.²
