Mary Mather

Mary was born on December 17th, 1820 in Walmersley and her christening took place on February 25th, 1821 at St. Mary-the-Virgin (Bury) conducted by Geoffrey Hornby.¹

  There was another Mary Mather born 22 June 1820, daughter of Mary and twin sister of Benjamin, the house painter.

Mary's father was Samuel Mather and her mother was Alice Greenhalgh. Her paternal grandparents were Robert Madther and Judith (Judy) Chadwick. She had five brothers and two sisters, named John, Robert, Samuel, Richard, James, Esther and Alice. She had an adopted sister named Sarah. She died at the age of 79 in March 1900 in Bury.²
