Robert Mather

Robert was born on October 29th, 1818 in Walmersley and his christening took place on January 3rd, 1819 at St. Mary-the-Virgin (Bury) conducted by Curate Thomas Selkirk.¹²

Robert's father was Samuel Mather and his mother was Alice Greenhalgh. His paternal grandparents were Robert Madther and Judith (Judy) Chadwick. He had four brothers and three sisters, named John, Samuel, Richard, James, Mary, Esther and Alice. He had an adopted sister named Sarah. He died at the age of 61 in 1879 in Bolton.³
