After Hannah died, James would have been left with his son John in 1841, but cant be found on the census records. There was a James (27) from Haslingden with his mother Alice (60), which could be him!
Margaret was still with her parents Samuel and Ann in 1881 (aged 22), but had left by 1891, presumed married.
Margaret Jane Sale (nee Mather) in 1891 was married to John Sale. This is another, who's parents were Thomas and Mary Mather.
