John Mather

John was born in July 1849 in Sharples and his baptism took place on July 22nd, 1849 at St. Paul's (Astley Bridge) conducted by minister K.Frazer.¹²

Birth Notes

John's father was Samuel Mather and his mother was Ann Nightingale. His paternal grandparents were Samuel Mather and Alice Mather; his maternal grandparents were William Nightingale and Peggy (Margaret) Riding. He had three brothers and two sisters, named Samuel, William, George, Alice and Margaret. He was the oldest of the six children. He died as an infant at 1 months old in August 1849 in Astley Bridge.³
