Name spelt James Madther on Thomas, James and Mary's baptisms. A strange error if one of the senior church wardens at St. Marys was a James Mather!
12 Aug 1792, James Mather (X) Cottom Manufacturer married Mary Melling, both of Radcliffe Parish.
In 1836, another James Mather was a senior Church Warden at Radcliffe, and presented a special tea service to Rev. Samuel Johnson MA as the reverend was leaving them (see news article). Note: This James died the previous year.
