WARNING: Other siblings were shop keepers in Radcliffe, so it seems odd Peter is a labourer in Pilkington, but he was a freemason!
25 Feb 1820, Peter Mather (22), a weaver, was initiated as a freemason at the Lodge of Faith, Piklington.
1820 Peter, a labourer married Sarah Hall at Middleton St Leonard. Sarah died in 1828, aged 26. In 1830, Peter (still a labourer) then married Sarah Barlow at Manchester Cathederal.
In 1830, Peter Mather, widower, labourer, married Sarah Barlow at Manchester Cathederal.
In 1836, brothers James and Peter Mather (and cousin Samuel Mather) had freehold houses and spring at Church Street, Radcliffe.
In 1841, Peter, a labourer, and Sally (40 & 30) were at Hollins, Pilkington with James (15), Mary (15), Maria (10), Ann (9), Squire (6) and Elizabeth (3). It was another Peter Mather b.1792 that was an Organist.
In 1860 Peter Mather lived at Dinting, Glossop, Derbyshire, and was on the Radcliffe Poling list since he had a leasehold hoiuse on Sion Street, Radcliffe.
In 1868, Peter died in Derbyshire and was interred at the Top Chapel of Charlesworth. There is a headstone inscription at St Mary's, Radcliffe.
