Mary's father was James Mather and her mother was Mary Melling.  Her paternal grandparents were James Mather and Mary Pendlebury. She had four brothers named Thomas, James, Peter and Miles.  She was the youngest of the five children.  She died at the age of 6 on May 23rd, 1810 in Radcliffe.  She was buried on May 25th, 1810 at St. Mary (Radcliffe).¹
