Alice was born in 1758 in Radcliffe and her baptism took place on November 26th, 1758 at St. Mary (Radcliffe).¹

Alice's father was James Mather and her mother was Mary Pendlebury. She had four brothers and five sisters, named Miles, John, Thomas, James, Ann, Betty, Martha, Jenny and Sally.  She was the fifth oldest of the ten children.  She died at the age of 27 on March 26th, 1785 in Radcliffe.  She was buried in March 1786 at St. Mary (Radcliffe).²
