Martha Mather

Martha was born in 1755 in Radcliffe and her baptism took place there on June 10th, 1755.¹

Martha's father was James Mather and her mother was Mary Pendlebury. She had four brothers and five sisters, named Miles, John, Thomas, James, Ann, Betty, Alice, Jenny and Sally. She was the fourth oldest of the ten children. She died at the age of 81 in July 1836 in Radcliffe. Her burial was on July 13th, 1836 at St. Mary (Radcliffe).²

- Ann, Betty, Thomas and Jenny all died young or as infants. Martha is not buried with them, so probably survived and married. Most likely she married James Allen in 1776
