Betty was born in December 1753 in Radcliffe and her baptism took place on December 21st, 1753 at St. Mary (Radcliffe).1  Betty's father was James Mather and her mother was Mary Pendlebury. She had four brothers and five sisters, named Miles, John, Thomas, James, Ann, Martha, Alice, Jenny and Sally.  She was the third oldest of the ten children.  She died as an infant in December 1753 in Radcliffe.  She was buried on December 23rd, 1753 at St. Mary (Radcliffe).2 3
