Helen (Ellen) Mather

Helen, known as Ellen, was born in October 1815 in Adlington and her baptism took place on October 15th, 1815 in Rivington.¹

Ellen's father was Thomas Mather and her mother was Alice Calderbank.  Her paternal grandparents were Edward (Nedde) Mather and Mary Hough. She had four brothers and three sisters, named John, Edward, Thomas, William, Mary, Alice and Catherine.  She was the third youngest of the eight children. She had five half-brothers and four half-sisters, named George, James, Isaac, Nathan, Thomas, Esther, Peggy, Lucy and Ellen.  She died at the age of 20 in April 1836 in Adlington.  She was buried on April 4th, 1836 in Rivington.²
