The picture received from Katrina has William 1832-1913, so I assume he must have died in 1913.
William's will leaves everything to his adopted daughter Maud Brereton. Probate was proved 5 June 1914. The estate was worth £23-5s-8d. Probate records William died at Kingston Road, Camperdown, NSW, formerly of Ples-ant Street, Pascoe Vale, Bourke County, Victoria. Occupation was a Gentleman.
Australian death index records place of death as Annandale, New South Wales, but father Thomas, Mother Elizabeth.
General Notes
Recorded as a servant of William and Mary in 1851.
William (aged 19) and his older brother John emigrated to Australia in Aug 1852 arriving in Port Philip Bay on the Lady Head,. Their other brothers arrived in 1858. Times couldn't have been that great there as their younget brother Samuel later, who would have hardly known his older brothers, went to the USA instead of Australia.
Although William and Maria married in 1884, they were living together in 1872. DNA tests suggest Alice Maude is probably Williams daughter, but not Maria's.
John was involved with the Salvation Army. He was married by a Salvation Army Chaplin, and his headstone reads "Erected by the Salvation Army and his daughter".

She has not been able to find this record, however her death certificate confirms her year of birth to be 1881 and her marriage record has her parents as William Brereton and Maria Clarke and her place of birth as Kyneton Victoria.
