Recorded as a servant of William and Mary in 1851.
George and Thomas (sons of Thomas and Martha) came out to Australia in 1858 on the Anglo Saxon ship. They arrived 6 years after their two brothers (William & John).
Dark Lane Farm, Broxton. Home of William (43) & Mary Brereton (40) and son Roger in 1851. Also (farm hand) brothers George (23), William (18) and Edward Brereton (14) i.e. three sons of Thomas and Martha Brereton. Also two house servants, Emma and Margaret Faulkner were present.
George, Sarah, Thomas and Anne Brereton emigrated together to Australia. They sailed on the Anglo Saxon, Liverpool to Victoria, arriving in Melbourne on 17th Feb 1858. George and Thomas were labourers.
Although Alice was adopted, her son's DNA has matched with a member of the Brereton family descended from George Brereton, William Brereton's brother. Therefore, William adopted a family member, probably a daughter of Harry, son of George, or he was hiding the fact that he had an illegitimate daughter & Alice was actually William's daughter (and also probably Maria's)!!
