Anne was born in March 1843 in Ellesmere.1  Anne's father was Thomas Brereton and her mother was Martha Hughes.  Her paternal grandparents were William Brereton Jnr and Mary Tomlinson; her maternal grandparents were William Hughes and Mary Bennion. She had six brothers and four sisters, named John, George, William, Thomas, Edward, Samuel, Mary, Elizabeth, Sarah and Jane.  She was the nineth oldest of the eleven children.  She died at the age of 2 in March 1845 in Harthill.  Her burial was on March 23rd, 1845 in Harthill.2 2
