    • Thomas left £50 advance each to Edward, Jane and Sarah. Later his estate was to be sold and divided equally to all 10 children after his wife Martha died.
Thomas was born on July 19th, 1803 in Harthill and his christening took place on August 21st, 1803 at All Saints, Harthill.1 2  Thomas' father was William Brereton Jnr and his mother was Mary Tomlinson.  His paternal grandparents were William Brereton and Mary Ledsham; his maternal grandparents were Thomas Tomlinson and Phoebe Owens. He had three brothers named John, William and George. He had an adopted sister named Phoebe. He had a half-brother named Samuel.  He died at the age of 68 on May 20th, 1872 in Chester.  He was buried in 1872 at Brown Knowl (Methodist).3 4

‌Thomas and Martha were married in a religious ceremony on January 22nd, 1827 at St. Oswalds (Chester) by Curate Edward Brick and witnessed by Samuel Hughes & Edward Edwards.1  They had six sons and five daughters, named John, George, William, Thomas, Edward, Samuel, Mary, Elizabeth, Sarah, Anne and Jane.  There are no more children.
