Mary was born on December 8th, 1542 in Linlithgow, West-Lothian, Scotland.  Mary's father was James V Stewart and her mother was Marie De Lorraine.  Her paternal grandparents were James IV+ Stewart and Margaret Tudor; her maternal grandparents were Claude I De Lorraine and Antoinette De Bourbon. She had two brothers named James and Arthur.  She was the youngest of the three children. She had five half-brothers named Robert, James, Adam, Francois III D' and Louis D'.  She died at the age of 43 on February 8th, 1586 in Fotheringham Cas, Northamptonshire, England.  She was buried in Westminster Abbey, Middlesex, England.

‌Mary and Henry were married in a religious ceremony on July 29th, 1565 in Holyrood Abbey, Edinburgh, Mid-Lothian, Scotland.  They had a son named James.
