James III+ was born on July 10th, 1451 in Stirling Castle, Stirlingshire, Scotland. James III+'s father was James II+ Stewart and his mother was Maria Of Gueldre D'+ Egmont. His paternal grandparents were James I+ Stewart and Joan De+ Beaufort; his maternal grandparents were Arnold D'+ Egmont and Katarina Von+ Kleve. He had a brother and two sisters, named Alexander, Mary+ and Margaret. He was the second oldest of the four children.
