James I+ was born in December 1394 in Dunfermline Palace, Fife, Scotland. James I+'s father was Robert III+ Stewart and his mother was Annabella+ Drummond. His paternal grandparents were Robert II+ Stewart and Elizabeth+ Mure; his maternal grandfather was John+ Drummond and his maternal grandmother is Mary+ Montfichet. He had three sisters named Margaret+, Elizabeth+ and Mary+. He was the youngest of the four children. He had a half-brother named John. He died at the age of 44 on February 20th, 1439 in Perthshire, Scotland--murdered.. He was buried in Monastery of the Friars Preachers, Perthshire, Scotland.General Notes
