Robert De+ Brus 
Robert De+ was born in July 1243 in Annandale, Dumfrieshire, Scotland. Robert De+'s father was Robert De+ Brus and his mother was Isabel De+ Clare. His paternal grandparents were Robert De+ Brus and Isabella De+ Huntingdon; his maternal grandparents were Gilbert Fitzrichard De+ Clare and Isabel+ Marshall. He had three brothers and four sisters, named Bernard De, William De, John De, Elizabeth De, Isabella De, Alosia De and Christiana De+. He was the oldest of the eight children. He had two half-brothers named Richard De and William De+. He died before June 14th, 1304 in Palestine.General Notes
Robert de Bruce (1253-1304) Scottish nobleman, eldest son of Robert de Bruce(1210-1295). He is said to have accompanied Edward I of England toPalestine in 1269. In 1271, he married Marjory, countess of Carrick, andin her right became Earl of Carrick. In 1292 he resigned the earldom to his eldest son Robert the Bruce (1274-1329), the future King Robert I. On the death of his father in 1295, he did homage to Edward I for his English lands, was made constable of Carlisle, and fought for the English against John de Baliol. On Baliol`s defeat, he applied to Edward for the crown, but was refused it. (Larousse Biographical Dictionary, p 218)
