Her paternal grandparents were Robert De+ Brus and Isabella De+ Huntingdon; her maternal grandparents were Gilbert Fitzrichard De+ Clare and Isabel+ Marshall. She had four brothers and three sisters, named Robert De+, Bernard De, William De, John De, Elizabeth De, Isabella De and Alosia De. She is the youngest of the eight children.
