Robert De+ Brus 
Robert De+ was born in 1210 in Annandale, Dumfriesshire, Scotland. Robert De+'s father was Robert De+ Brus and his mother was Isabella De+ Huntingdon. His paternal grandfather was William De+ Brus and his paternal grandmother is Christian+ X; his maternal grandparents were David De+ Huntingdon and Maud De+ Meschines. He had two brothers and a sister, named Bernard De, Richard De and Beatrice De. He was the oldest of the four children. He died at the age of 85 on May 31st, 1295 in Priory, Lochmaben, Dumfriesshire, Scotland. He was buried in 1295 in Priory, Guisburn, Yorkshire, England.General Notes
5th Lord of Annandale:This Robert de Bruce (Brus) was called Robert the Competitor. Robert de Bruce, 5th Lord of Annandale, (1210-1295) Scottish nobleman. He did homage to Henry III in 1251, on the death of his mother for her lands in England, and was made sheriff of Cumberland and constable of Carlisle. On the Scottish throne becoming vacant on the death in 1290 of Margaret the Maid of Norway, granddaughter of Alexander III, both John de Balliol and Bruce claimed the succession. Edward I as umpire decided in favor of Balliol in 1292. To avoid swearing fealty to his successful rival, Bruce resigned Annandale to his eldest son, Robert de Bruce (1253-1304).
