Edward the Black Prince was born on June 15th, 1330 in Woodstock, Oxfordshire, England.  Edward the Black Prince's father was Edward III Plantagenet King of England and his mother was Phillipa de Hainault.  His paternal grandparents were Edward II of Caernarvon King of England and Isabella de France; his maternal grandparents were Guillaume III le Bon Ct de Hainault & Holland and Jeanne de Valois. He had seven brothers and five sisters, named Lionel, John of Gaunt, Edmund, Thomas, William, Thomas of Woodstock, William, Isabella, Mary, Margaret, Joan (Joanna) and Blanche. He had two half-brothers and two half-sisters, named Sir John, Nicholas de Lytleton, Jane and Joan.  He died at the age of 45 on June 8th, 1376 in Westminster Palace, London, England.

‌Edward the Black Prince and Joan the Fair Maid were married in a religious ceremony on October 10th, 1361 in Windsor Castle, Berkshire, England.  They had two sons named Richard II Plantagenet and Edward.
