Charles II the Lame de Salerno was born in 1254 in of Naples, Italy.  Charles II the Lame de Salerno's father was Charles I Capet de King of Naples & Sicily and his mother was Beatrice Berenger Cts de Provence.  His paternal grandparents were Louis VIII Capet the Lion King of France and Blanca de Castile; his maternal grandparents were Raimund VI Berenger Ct de Provence and Beatrice de Savoie. He had a sister named Beatrice Capet.  He died at the age of 55 on May 5th, 1309 in Casanuova, Italy.

‌Charles II the Lame de Salerno and Maria were married in a religious ceremony in 1270.  They had four sons and two daughters, named Charles I Robert, Robert the Wise of Naples, Johann of Durazzo, Philipp of Tarent, Eleanor and Marguerite.
