Eleanor was born on October 11th, 1162 in Falais, Calvados, France or Domfront, Normandy.  Eleanor's father was Henry II Plantagenet de Anjou King of England and her mother was Eleanor de Aquitaine Dss de Aquitaine.  Her paternal grandparents were Geoffrey V Plantagenet [COUNT OF ANJOU] and Empress of England Matilda; her maternal grandparents were William VIII Count of Poitou , X Duke d'Aquitaine and Eleanor de Chatellerault. She had six brothers and two sisters, named William Plantagenet, Richard I Coeur de Lion, Geoffrey, Philip, John Lackland Plantagenet, Henry the Young King, Matilda (Maud) and Joan. She had six half-brothers and five half-sisters, named Morgan, Richard, Hugh of Wells, William Longespee of, Peter, Geoffrey Plantagenet, Matilda, daughter, Agnes Capet, Marie Capet and Alisa Capet.  She died at the age of 52 on October 31st, 1214 in Burgos, Spain.

‌Eleanor and Alfonso VIII de Castile were married in a religious ceremony on September 21st, 1177 in Burgos, Spain.  They had two sons and four daughters, named Ferdinand, Enrique I de Castile, Berengaria Alfonsez, Urraca, Blanca and Leonor.
