Charles I Capet de was born in Anjou, France.  Charles I Capet de's father was Louis VIII Capet the Lion King of France and his mother was Blanca de Castile.  His paternal grandparents were Philippe II Capet Augustus King of France and Isabella de Hainault; his maternal grandparents were Alfonso VIII de Castile King of Castile and Eleanor Plantagenet. He had nine brothers and a sister, named Philippe Capet, St. Louis IX Capet, Robert Capet de Artois I, Jean Capet, Alphonse Capet de Poitiers, Etienne Capet, Philippe Capet, Philippe Dagobert Capet, Jean Capet and Isabella Capet.  He died in Foggia Castle, Foggia, Italy.
