Edward III Plantagenet was born on November 13th, 1312 in Windsor Castle, Berkshire, England.  Edward III Plantagenet's father was Edward II of Caernarvon King of England and his mother was Isabella de France.  His paternal grandparents were Edward I Longshanks King of England and Eleanora de Castile Cts de Ponthieu; his maternal grandparents were Philippe IV the Fair Capet King of France and Joan (Juana) I de Navarre Queen of Navarre. He had a brother and two sisters, named John of Eltham Plantagenet, Eleanor and Joanna.  He was the oldest of the four children.  He died at the age of 64 on June 21st, 1377 in Sheen Palace, Richmond, Surrey.

‌Edward III Plantagenet and Phillipa were married in a religious ceremony in York Minster, England.  They had eight sons and five daughters, named Edward the Black Prince, Lionel, John of Gaunt, Edmund, Thomas, William, Thomas of Woodstock, William, Isabella, Mary, Margaret, Joan (Joanna) and Blanche.
