Edward I Longshanks was born on June 17th, 1239 in Westminster Palace, London, Middlesex, England.  Edward I Longshanks' father was Henry III Plantagenet King of England and his mother was Eleanor Berenger de Provence.  His paternal grandparents were John Lackland Plantagenet King of England and Isabella Taillefer de AngoulIme; his maternal grandparents were Raimund VI Berenger Ct de Provence and Beatrice de Savoie. He had five brothers and three sisters, named Richard, John, William, Henry, Edmund Crouchback, Margaret, Beatrice and Katherine.  He died at the age of 68 on July 7th, 1307 in Burgh-on-the-Sands, near Carlisle, Cumberland, England.

‌Edward I Longshanks and Eleanora de Castile were married in a religious ceremony on October 18th, 1254 in Abbey de Las Huelgas, Burgos, Castile.  They had four sons and twelve daughters, named John, Henry, Alfonso Plantagenet, Edward II of Caernarvon, Eleanor, Joan, Julian (Katherine), Joan of Acre Plantagenet, Margaret, Berengaria, Elizabeth, Beatrice, Blanche, Mary, Alice and Isabella.
