Marguerite was born in 1221 in St.-Maime, Forcalquier, France.  Marguerite's father was Raimund VI Berenger Ct de Provence and her mother was Beatrice de Savoie.  Her paternal grandparents were Alphonso II "El Casto" Ct de Provence and Gersinde de Sabran Cts de Forcalquier; her maternal grandparents were Thomas de Maurienne Ct de Savoie and Marguerite de Faucigny de Genevre. She had three sisters named Eleanor, Sanchia Berenger and Beatrice Berenger.  She was the oldest of the four children.  She died at the age of 74 on December 20th, 1295 in St. Marcel, Paris, Seine, France.


Marguerite's family with St. Louis IX Capet King of France

‌Marguerite and St. Louis IX Capet were married in a religious ceremony in May 1234.  They had six sons and five daughters, named Louis Capet, Philippe III the Bold le Hardi, Jean Capet, Jean Tristan de, Peter Capet, Robert Capet de Clermont, Blanche Capet, Blanche Capet, Marguerite Capet, Agnes Capet and Isabella Capet.
