Levi Calhoun was born on July 23rd, 1857 in Little Mountain, Newberry County, South Carolina.1 Levi Calhoun's father was Middleton Boland and his mother was Anna Barbara Frick. His paternal grandparents were Abram Boland and Eva Christina Sease. He had five brothers and seven sisters, named David, Abraham Noah, Edward Jonah, Lawson Pettus, Ira Coens, Rachel Happy, Louise Alice, Ellen M., Frances Victoria, Emma, Mary Catherine and Corrie Ada. He was the fifth oldest of the thirteen children. He had a half-sister named Lula Beatress. He died at the age of 81 on September 15th, 1938 in Charleston, Charleston County, South Carolina. He was buried in Magnolia Cemetery (Lutheran Section), Charleston, SC.1 1 -
