Ellen M. was born on December 18th, 1859 in Little Mountain, Newberry County, South Carolina.1 Ellen M.'s father was Middleton Boland and her mother was Anna Barbara Frick. Her paternal grandparents were Abram Boland and Eva Christina Sease. She had six brothers and six sisters, named David, Abraham Noah, Levi Calhoun, Edward Jonah, Lawson Pettus, Ira Coens, Rachel Happy, Louise Alice, Frances Victoria, Emma, Mary Catherine and Corrie Ada. She was the sixth oldest of the thirteen children. She had a half-sister named Lula Beatress. She died due to Born an invalid at the age of 17 on July 10th, 1877. She was buried in Boland Cemetery #2, Little Mountain, South Carolina.1 1 -
