Silas DeSpain

Silas was born in September 1810 in Green Co.,Kentucky. Silas' father was Peter DeSpain and his mother was Nancy Skaggs. His paternal grandfather was John DeSpain and his paternal grandmother is Susan Scott; his maternal grandparents are Henry Skaggs and Mary Thompson. He had twelve brothers and four sisters, named John M., Hiram, William Marshall, Stephen, Mark, James Simpson, Harrison, William Joseph, George Washington, Andrew Drury, Thomas, Edmund, Susanna Elizabeth, Mary, Nancy and Lucy Ann. He was the eighth youngest of the seventeen children. He had a half-brother named William Perry. He died at the age of 47 on May 1st, 1858 in Green Co.,Kentucky.

‌Silas and Abigail were married in a religious ceremony on October 30th, 1831 in Green Co.,Kentucky. They had three sons and four daughters, named William Lewis, Jesse H., James H., Sarah Elizabeth, Nancy J., Mary Frances and Adaline.

‌Silas and Susan D. were married in a religious ceremony on March 25th, 1857 in Green Co.,Kentucky.
